Tottenham host Crystal Palace on Sunday night in the Premier League – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter have told manager Jose Mourinho that Erik Lamela should be recalled to the starting XI.

Spurs are at home to London rivals Palace in the league fixture, which represents a great chance for the former to stretch their winning run.

Mourinho’s team have won their last three consecutive games across all competitions, including a narrow 1-0 victory away to Fulham in their last outing.

Spurs are eighth in the league standings right now, but they are only five points adrift of the Champions League positions and there is still time left in the season for them to make a late charge.

Apart from this weekend’s Palace match, it’s worth noting that on Thursday they have an important Europa League first leg match against Dynamo Zagreb.

A selection of Spurs supporters on social media feel it’s the ideal time to bring £80,000-a-week star Lamela back into the XI.

The 29-year-old left-footed winger was used as a substitute in the Fulham result and is capable of being a major attacking threat on his day.

He is often in and out of the XI, but is a fully committed player that is aggressive, works hard on the pitch and has three goals so far this season.
