Tottenham fans can’t contain their pride as £80,000-a-week star scoops special award

Many Tottenham Hotspur fans have lavished praise on midfielder Moussa Sissoko, after he was presented with an inaugural Legends’ Player of the Season award.

The Frenchman has enjoyed a superb season for the north London outfit and is now one of the club’s most important players.

The former Newcastle United star struggled massively when he first signed two years ago for £30 million (BBC Sport), but has turned things around in a remarkable way.

Sissoko took full advantage of an injury to former midfielder Mousa Dembele before Christmas.

Eric Dier was also out of the picture after having had surgery to remove his appendix.

The dynamo quickly made people change their minds about him, as he became the Dembele-esque driving force from deep.

Spurs are currently gearing up for the Champions League final against Liverpool on Saturday, but in training club legends such as Graham Roberts, Micky Hazard and Ossie Ardiles surprised Sissoko with a special Player of the Season award to put his renaissance into perspective.
