Christian Eriksen has revealed that he may want to “try something new” away from Tottenham – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have been bitter with their responses.
The Denmark international is about to enter the final year of his contract with Spurs and Real Madrid have been frequently linked to him, but AS claim they would be unwilling to pay more than £62million for him.
He has explained to Danish media outlet Ekstra Bladet that he may want to have a football experience elsewhere, which is a big hint about his future.
“I feel that I am a place in my career where I might want to try something new,” he said. “I have the wildest and deepest respect for Tottenham. It is not negative. But I have also said that I would like to try something new.
“It depends on Daniel Levy. And another club has to come. Or I have to sit down at the table and negotiate a new contract. You can’t set a date yourself.”

There has been some mixed responses to the latest quotes from Eriksen and some Spurs fans have been bitter by stating he needs to improve on the pitch, while others wouldn’t mind if he exited this summer.
The attacking midfielder has just enjoyed a strong campaign for the North London club and has played 277 times in total during his Spurs career.
He’s made 51 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring 10 goals and supplying 17 assists in return.
The creative maestro would certainly leave a massive void if he was to leave the club and it would intriguing to see how Mauricio Pochettino goes about replacing him.
