Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing Eljif Elmas from Turkish club Fenerbahce – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter believe they should be looking elsewhere.

According to Super Haber, Spurs are primed to win the race for the midfielder and could strike a potential deal for around £17.2million.

Meanwhile, TEAMtalk have reported that Manchester City, Leicester City, Juventus, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have also shown an interest.

Elmas is currently a regular for Fenerbahce, who sit mid-table in the Super Lig.

Mauricio Pochettino has shown that in his role as Spurs boss he can help develop young talents in North London, with Dele Alli a shining example of that in recent years.

The team could do with some reinforcements in the centre of the park following the loss of Mousa Dembele in January and the Fenerbahce midfielder is an intriguing target, but supporters are not too pleased with it.

They feel they need a more high-profile arrival in the midfield ahead of next season to help them improve.
