Tottenham Hotspur returned to winning ways with a much-needed 1-0 victory against Manchester United.
James Maddison opened the scoring for Tottenham by scoring a tap-in after Lucas Bergvall’s initial attempt at goal was parried into the English midfielder’s path by Andre Onana.
Maddison’s return to the side was followed by an impressive display from him for the most part.
But another Tottenham player who was arguably even more impressive against Manchester United was Djed Spence.
Spence has been one of Spurs’ finest performers this season and once again at left-back, he put in an excellent shift.
As the former Nottingham Forest defender shone against Manchester United, Tottenham fans agreed that he was their standout performer on the day.

Tottenham fans say Djed Spence was their Man of the Match vs Manchester United
One Tottenham fan claimed that Spence was the Man of the Match against United, writing on X: “Djed Spence MOTM [Man of the Match] surely?”
Another Tottenham supporter sang Spence’s praises as he was equally impactful defensively and going forward, stating: “Djed Spence was constructed in a lab somewhere. There’s no other explanation. Djed Spence. By far and away the best player on the pitch today.”
A third Spurs fan lauded Spence, who David Seaman likened to Kolo Toure for how terrific his ball-carrying was against Manchester United.
“Spence’s leap has been, insane ball-carrying, turning out of pressure, weight of pass, duelling have been so so special man.”
A fourth fan claimed that the Englishman is “undroppable” now after his performance against Ruben Amorim’s side, stating: “Djed Spence is undroppable at the moment, another brilliant game today!”
While a fifth Tottenham fan stated that no player in the Premier League wins duels as well as Spence, exclaiming: “Djed Spence is probably the best duel-winner in the league, non-hyperbolic. I want to go through his duel statistics when I have the time. Feels like he rarely ever gets beaten and has such a high volume of duels every single game. Forty duels won his last five games. 40. Four, zero. Do you know how insane that is?”
Another Lilywhites supporter simply claimed: “Djed Spence MOTM again, quality always rises, my player of the season so far.”
Finally, a sixth Tottenham fan heaped praise on Spence’s display for Ange Postecoglou’s side as well, saying: “He looks a level above the rest of the team.”
