Tottenham Hotspur have announced the shock news that, after almost 25 years, Daniel Levy has stepped down as chairman of the football club.
Levy has held the position of chairman since 2001, so this represents a significant change at the North London club.
The 63-year-old has overseen two trophies won during his tenure, which has seen him face a fair amount of scrutiny during that period.
But away from the pitch and the former Tottenham Hotspur Executive Chairman has seen the club grow exponentially, with the stadium, training facilities and global fanbase.

Tottenham fans make surprise Daniel Levy claim
Tottenham fans have been hailing the impact of Daniel Levy at the club following the news that he will be leaving the club after 25 years.
Whilst success on the pitch has been limited in terms of silverware, Spurs have become a club capable of consistently challenging for Europe.
The Lilywhites have also grown exponentially off the pitch, as mentioned, when you look at the infrastructure Levy delivered during his time in charge.
Levy built a stadium which not only attracts the best players, as Xavi Simons recently admitted, but also one which generates serious revenue.
Levy recently did an interview with The Overlap podcast in which he claims he would only get the recognition for his work once he leaves.
Right now, that is proving to be the case as Spurs fans have taken to social media to praise the impact he’s had on growing the football club.
One fan passionately claimed: “Daniel Levy has undoubtedly run this Club as one of the best in the world from a business perspective over the last 25-odd years.
“From a footballing standpoint, he left a fair bit to be desired. Tottenham have fantastic foundations laid from his tenure to really kick on and become the Club we’ve always dreamed of.
“The big IF is whether that actually happens, or if it is just more of the same. We will now get to find out.”
“Levy had faults on the sporting side at times, but a lot of that stemmed from not just trying to ensure the club was incredibly healthy financially and sustainable, but succeeding at that, doing that in the modern Premier League, while getting Champions League is insane. Thank you, Levy,” issued another fan.
Finally, another fan added: “I know a lot of fans disliked Daniel Levy, but I personally think he’s done a great deal of good for the club. The best way to measure his impact is that he’s leaving it in a far better state than the one he walked into 25 years ago.”
The Lewis Family want more wins, more often
Spurs’ majority shareholders, the Lewis Family, are believed to want ‘more wins, more often’, according to Sky News.
Levy’s tenure has delivered just a League Cup and a Europa League, and there is a sense that more should and could have been achieved.
Tottenham fans will certainly be excited to hear the ambition of their owners, but will want to see action taken to make the team as competitive as possible.
The North London club went big in the transfer window over the summer, signing Simons, Mohammed Kudus, Joao Palhinha, Randal Kolo Muani and Kota Takai.
