Tottenham fans applaud Jamie Bowden after Under-23 win over Manchester United

Tottenham under-23s ran out 3-0 winners over Manchester United this afternoon and midfielder Jamie Bowden caught the eye for the young Spurs.

The first-team suffered a big setback last night as they lost 3-0 to Dinamo Zagreb to crash out of the Europa League.

Marcel Lavinier and Kion Etete also scored for the under-23 ranks.

Naturally, supporters weren’t overly bothered about today’s fixture, although Bowden’s performance did pull in some praise.

The 19-year-old fired home from the penalty spot during the first half and was largely impressive throughout.

He maintained his composure after Romaine Mundle was fouled inside the penalty area.

Bowden was on the bench for the first team earlier in the campaign against Wolfsberger in the Europa League.

He wasn’t introduced on that occasion but the future certainly looks bright for the youngster.

Despite heartbreak for Tottenham fans last night some did heap praise on the midfielder for today’s performance.
