Hugo Lloris helped France beat Belgium on Thursday evening – but a first-half save has prompted reaction from Tottenham fans, and Michel Vorm.
France came from behind to beat Belgium in the semi-final of the UEFA Nations League, 3-2. A brilliant advertisement for the new competition.
Belgium had taken a two-goal lead in the first half, netting through Yannick Carrasco and Romelu Lukaku. But France came roaring back.
Karim Benzema’s twist and turn halved the deficit, before Kylian Mbappe netted from the penalty spot. Lukaku then had a goal disallowed at 2-2.
But it was AC Milan’s Theo Hernandez who arrowed a shot into the far corner from the edge of the area. The winner came in the 90th minute.
Perhaps, France’s best moment came inside the first four minutes. Lloris produced a stunning stop to deny Kevin De Bruyne from close range.
The £100k-a-week (Spotrac) stopper tipped an effort onto the post. It was a stunning stop, and one that eventually proved to be crucial.

What are Tottenham fans and Vorm saying about Lloris save?
Many have pointed blame towards Lloris for Belgium’s two goals. Carrasco’s effort beat him at the near post, while Lukaku managed to squeeze one in.
Carrasco is expected to go across the goal and the defenders did not get close enough to him. Lukaku’s goal does not look good for Lloris.
But again, the defenders were turned easily. He has got some criticism, his save easily makes up for that. Vorm and Spurs fans have reacted.
