Tottenham fans amazed by amazing moment from 20-year-old in win v Colchester
Tottenham Hotspur secured a comfortable 3-0 win away at Colchester United on Wednesday evening. Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura and Dele all scored first-half goals to complete a routine victory away from home. But Tottenham fans are in awe after a moment of genius from Oliver Skipp.
Nuno Espirito Santo welcomed back Son for Tottenham’s second pre-season game – having drawn with Leyton Orient on the weekend. The South Korea skipper started the match and duly obliged, tapping home the opener after Steven Bergwijn was set free. It was 2-0 moments later.
Lucas Moura is renowned for his impressive leap and he headed a corner into the back of the net at the near post. Then, the rejuvenated Dele continued his resurgence. Son was set free behind the Colchester defence and Dele bundled the ball home, putting his body on the line to do so.
What did Skipp do v Colchester and what have Tottenham fans said?
During the first half, 20-year-old Skipp – who has returned to Spurs after a brilliant loan at Norwich – picked the ball up in midfield. He fired a gorgeous first-time pass out to Bergwijn, very Steven Gerrard-esque. It was so good that Tottenham posted it on their Twitter account.
Tottenham fans clearly impressed. Many reacted to his gorgeous pass by comparing him with the likes of Zinedine Zidane, while another Spurs fan suggested he is better than Arsenal’s Thomas Partey. Another supporter reckons he is already a future Ballon d’Or winner.
