Harry Kane and Son Heung-min have posted a heartfelt Instagram post in the aftermath of Tottenham’s decision to part company with manager Jose Mourinho and his coaching staff.
The Portuguese boss was handed his papers this morning, with Daniel Levy choosing to sack the manager just six days before the Carabao Cup Final against Manchester City.
Kane has been one of Tottenham’s better players under Mourinho, dismissing the myth from some pundits following his arrival that he’d struggled to score goals in his system.
The England man has found the net 32 times during 2020/21 and is once again proving to be the main man in the Tottenham ranks.
Following his departure being announced earlier today, Kane took to Instagram with an emotional message for the man who is now the former Tottenham boss.
Kane’s future has been a hot topic of discussion and Levy must now appoint a manager who can match the ambition of the sensational talisman.
He needs to appoint a manager who can get rid of the underperforming players in the squad and build a team capable of challenging for the big honours.
For Son, he has stepped up under Mourinho and the boss clearly gave the star man a lot of confidence.
He too must be kept at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the new manager will hope the Spurs duo can continue their lethal understanding.
It’s interesting that some reports suggest Mourinho lost the dressing room.
Reading the Instagram posts from Son and Kane, however, suggest that he had the respect of arguably the two most powerful players among the group of players.
