Victor Wanyama has posted a message to Montreal Impact fans on Instagram after completing a move to the MLS side from Tottenham Hotspur – and Kieran Trippier, Georges-Kevin Nkoudou and two Tottenham players reacted to his post.
The 28-year-old midfielder has signed a three-year deal with Thierry Henry’s MLS side, after the Kenya captain plummeted down the Spurs pecking order in his fourth season with the club. Under Jose Mourinho, he had no chance.
So much so, that the ex-Southampton and Celtic star has left Tottenham on a free transfer. The signings of Tanguy Ndombele and Gio Lo Celso, as well as the form of Harry Winks, has ousted Wanyama from the Spurs side.
Following confirmation of his move across the pond to compete in the MLS, Wanyama sent a message on Instagram to Montreal supporters as he looks forward to playing under Thierry Henry and the Saputo family.

The lion is coming to MLS! 🦁 I’m really happy to join an exciting club like @impactmontreal Impact. I think the Saputo family, Thierry, and the management at Montreal have a great plan in place and I am hoping I can make a great contribution to the success of this project. 💙🖤🤍
Montreal beat New England 2-1 on Saturday, and Wanyama will go into the squad to take on FC Dallas this weekend. He links up with ex-Barcelona star Bojan, while Luis Binks left Tottenham earlier this year to wear the number 5 shirt at Montreal.
Tottenham stars Paulo Gazzaniga and Michel Vorm responded to his post on Instagram, as did former Spurs teammates Georges-Kevin Nkoudou and Kieran Trippier – all wishing Wanyama the best.
