Tottenham dodged a bullet in Kevin Mirallas transfer

Everton winger Kevin Mirallas has been discussing a failed move to Tottenham Hotspur. The Belgian, who is currently on loan at Italian side Fiorentina, was speaking to Calciomercato when he suggested Tottenham Hotspur were keen on his signature in 2016.

Mirallas, who can play wide or up front, would have certainly been a surprise signing by Tottenham. Judging by his performances over the past two years, it is certainly for the best that Tottenham did not get him.

Mirallas’ form has dropped dramatically in recent years.

In the 2016-17 season, he was a regular for Everton and had a fairly impressive season. But last term was a disaster for the 30-year-old. After a woeful performance against Southampton in November, he was swiftly cast aside. He ended up joining former club Olympiakos on loan for the second half of the season.

“There was also Tottenham who courted me. The charm of the Premier League, the opportunity to participate in the Champions League. New emotions. Instead nothing.”

That did not go well either. He struggled to find his best form as the Greek giants suffered a horrible campaign on and off the pitch.

Now he is struggling to make the squad for Fiorentina. It certainly seems that Tottenham have not missed out greatly with the Belgian clearly a dwindling talent.
