Tottenham defender Juan Foyth surely has to be looking for exit doors

Juan Foyth was recognised as an exciting young talent when he first arrived at Tottenham, plus he was rated by the club’s former manager Mauricio Pochettino and introduced to the first-team group.

Spurs signed the defender for £8million (BBC) back in 2017 and he was integrated to the main squad with senior appearances.

The youngster played 25 first-team games during his first two seasons with the North London club, plus he managed to become a regular too with his country Argentina on the international stage.

Foyth, 22, is a centre-back by trade that is strong in possession with a range of passing, as well as showing he can play right-back too.

But this season during his third year in England he’s managed just seven appearances across all competitions and slipped drastically down the defensive pecking order since Jose Mourinho took charge as manager.

The South American certainly doesn’t appear to be anywhere near his main plans moving forward, which is why surely he’s got to look into an exit for next season whether that be on a loan or permanent basis.

Foyth is a young defender that has a lot of potential, but he needs to playing regular games and that doesn’t look achievable under Mourinho.

Calciomercato reported in February that Foyth is a player that Spurs have offered to Italian club AC Milan ahead of this summer’s transfer window, but they aren’t convinced by him right now.

Foyth can’t afford to spend the next season sat watching on from the sidelines if he wants to continue in the international set-up and should be requesting some sort of move if he can’t break into Mourinho’s plans.
