Tottenham Hotspur boosted their Champions League credentials last night with a 1-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion. A late Christian Eriksen goal ensured Spurs didn’t drop points in the race to secure a top-four finish.
A dogged Seagulls side very nearly denied Mauricio Pochettino’s side but their rearguard was breached with just two minutes of normal time to play.
One man who has been vastly improved of late is left-back Danny Rose. It has been reported in the Evening Standard that the England man could be one of 12 players made available for transfer in the summer.
His current form has been good though, to the point where perhaps Pochettino might consider erasing him from his list of squad members who he would like to offload.
Against Brighton, he looked back to his best. Rose was strong defensively, energetic going forward and useful with the ball. He certainly seems determined to show Pochettino that he can still do a job.
With Ben Davies also on the books, it does seem likely that one left-back will perhaps depart during the summer. Rose right now is showing glimpses of his old self and a few more performances like last night will do him the world of good.
