Real Madrid are ready to revive their interest in Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen with a bid of £45 million plus Dani Ceballos, according to The Sun.
If the La Liga giants were to land the Dane it would be their second raid on the Premier League following Eden Hazard’s big-money switch from Chelsea.
Tottenham will be under pressure to make a decision on Eriksen. He is out of contract next summer and the club won’t want to lose him on a free transfer.
Ceballos has already been linked with a move to Spurs and now looks set to be a makeweight in the Eriksen saga.
The 22-year-is currently on international duty playing at the Under-21 European Championship. He netted for Spain in their 3-1 defeat over Italy on Sunday night.
He has told Zinedine Zidane of his desire to leave, citing a lack of first-team football.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino will now have a decision to make, with Real Madrid making a reasonable offer.
It looks as though things could be starting to progress on the transfer deal involving Christian Eriksen.
Losing the 89-cap international would represent a massive blow but if Tottenham can recoup cash plus Ceballos might be a decent deal.
Eriksen has been a brilliant servant to the club. In 277 appearances he has scored 66 goals and created 86 in the way of assists.
He has always given his all since arriving from Ajax and very few Tottenham supporters would begrudge him this move.
Ceballos needs to go out and play some regular football. He has shown in glimpses how good he can be and the challenge for Pochettino would be to unleash his potential.
