Tottenham could use Harry Winks interest to land Manchester United star
Manchester United reportedly want Harry Winks and Tottenham must use the interest to their own benefit during the transfer window.
The central midfielder has hardly played during 2020/21 and Spurs could cash in for £25 million when the window reopens.
Winks did make 30 appearances but only half of those came in the Premier League, with many coming from the bench.
With that in mind, Spurs could offload him and they should use United’s interest to their benefit.
Tottenham have previously been linked with Anthony Martial and perhaps a deal can be done for the Frenchman.
He made a move from Monaco to Old Trafford in 2015, costing the club £36 million. Since arriving he has scored 78 goals in 258 appearances for the Red Devils.
In recent times though he’s failed to really earn a proper run in the United team.
With that in mind, Tottenham would perhaps be wise to ask United to include him in any deal for Winks.
Martial is a player who would be absolutely perfect for the North London-based club.
At United he is a small fish in a big pond but at Tottenham he’d play regularly and be considered a top player.
The left-footed player typically operates as a centre-forward but he can also play on the left-wing.
That level of versatility would make him a brilliant asset to the Tottenham ranks and supporters could really take to him.
Martial to Tottenham is a match made in heaven
There will come a time when the man with 27 France caps just needs a regular run of football.
Okay, he’s had his injury problems but United haven’t really used him as a regular starter and that’s a problem.
Winks is probably on borrowed time in North London and offloading him makes perfect sense.
Tottenham need to be savvy in the market though and they must ensure they get the very best deal.
That should include a player and Martial is just the man Spurs should ask for.
