Report: Tottenham could spend another £62m on deadline day as Conte eyes two English-based players
Tottenham are looking to finish the window strongly and are looking to make a number of new signings before the window slams shut on Monday evening.
Spurs have missed out on players such as Adama Traore and Luis Diaz this week. But Fabio Paratici is determined to do some business this weekend, and has eyes on different players. Douglas Luiz is one being looked at from Aston Villa, while Dejan Kulusevski is set to arrive from Juventus.
But according to the Mirror, Spurs might not be done there. Their report claims Tottenham could decided to make a late move to sign both Yves Bissouma and Djed Spence from Brighton and Middlesbrough respectively. Deals for the pair would come at a price for Spurs. Bissouma has previously been valued at around the £50m mark, while this month, Arsenal and more were quoted around £12m for Spence.
Tottenham boss Antonio Conte is desperate to see new players arrive. After a promising start to the window saw countless players linked, so far, he has nothing.
Spence has been shining for Nottingham Forest on loan this season while Bissouma is highly-regarded in English football. Newcastle United have also considered Bissouma this month.
TBR’s View: Tottenham Fans Would Love Bissouma And Spence
It might seem like a huge outlay, spending £60m+ on two new players on deadline day. But Tottenham need reinforcements and both these players bring a lot to the fold.
Spence would need to step up, of course. But he seems to have all the talent in the world and as a right wing-back, could be perfect for Conte. With Bissouma, we all know he is a top quality midfield player and he instantly improves the side. It is worth noting Spence couldn’t play this season, however, as he’s already appeared for both Boro and Forest.
If Paratici can somehow pull this off, along with the Juventus duo, then he might end up getting some credit for his work this month after all.
