Tottenham could sign player Jude Bellingham thinks is better than Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior

Tottenham rarely sign players from a European giant.

Thomas Frank has a squad largely made up of talent signed from the likes of Bournemouth, Leicester, Nottingham Forest and Burnley as Spurs typically attempt to find rough diamonds over bona fide stars.

However, Tottenham are now exploring a deal to sign a Real Madrid player Jude Bellingham believes is actually the best at the Santiago Bernabeu in Rodrygo.

What Jude Bellingham said about Rodrygo

This is a seriously exciting development for Spurs.

TBR Football understand Rodrygo is open to joining Tottenham this summer as the Brazil international finds himself out of favour under Xabi Alonso – who handed the South American just 92 minutes of action at the FIFA Club World Cup this summer.

If a move to N17 materialises for the Brazilian, Frank would be getting a player Bellingham believes is actually better than both Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior, as well as himself.

After a 3-1 win over Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League last season, Bellingham hailed Rodrygo, telling CBS Sports: “So underrated. For me, he’s probably the most talented and gifted player in the squad.

“The things he can do with the football, we’ll be messing around and he’ll flick the ball up somehow and you’re like, how did he do that? I’m trying to do that I’m twisting my ankles and everything!

“Another thing to mention is that he’s the one who sacrifices the most, really. It’s clear that his favourite position is on the left. It’s important to note that he does a lot for the team defensively on the right side, which isn’t his favourite, but, he never complains, he just gets on with it.”

Rodrygo scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists in 54 appearances across all competitions last season, an impressive haul when you consider he played at least ten games in three different positions.

Rodrygo could get the chance to shine in his favourite role at Tottenham

Heung-min Son made 37 appearances on the left flank last season, so Rodrygo faces the tough task of dislodging a club legend if a move to Tottenham does materialise.

However, the South Korea international could soon be off.

TBR Football understand Tottenham are open to selling Son this summer if a reasonable bid is made, with LAFC showing interest in the Spurs No.7 at this moment in time.

Should an exit materialise, Rodrygo would have a chance to make that position on the left his own.
