Tottenham are pushing to sign Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich ahead of the February 3rd transfer deadline.
TBR Football understand Tel has fallen out with Vincent Kompany after making just three starts across all competitions this season – and is eager to receive more game time elsewhere.
The Bayern Munich No.39 did actually start in the 3-1 UEFA Champions League win over Slovan Bratislava on Wednesday night, but appeared to wave goodbye to fans inside the Allianz Arena.
Tottenham are now determined to sign Tel after Ange Postecoglou lost Dominic Solanke and Brennan Johnson to injury – although Arsenal and Manchester United also like the Frenchman.
If Tottenham end up missing out on Mathys Tel in the coming days, Switzerland international Noah Okafor could join.
Noah Okafor under consideration at Tottenham
Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that Spurs have discussed signing the AC Milan No.14 – with the Swiss forward expected to leave the San Siro before the transfer deadline.
The reliable Italian journalist wrote on X (previously known as Twitter): “Tottenham will surely bring in one more striker in the final days, one of several clubs keen on Mathys Tel. Meanwhile, understand Noah Okafor has also been discussed as (an) option with the Swiss striker due to leave AC Milan.”
TBR Football understand Okafor was offered to West Ham earlier in January after the 24-year-old failed a medical with RB Leipzig, and Graham Potter is a fan of the man born in Binningen.
AC Milan signed the Switzerland international in a €15m (£12.7m) move from RB Salzburg back in July 2023 – and he has scored seven goals in 53 appearances for the Italian giants.
TBR Football revealed much earlier in January that Okafor could join Tottenham at some stage before the deadline.
Noah Okafor is statistically similar to Jarrod Bowen and Morgan Rogers
While Okafor may not boast the greatest goalscoring record for AC Milan, his underlying numbers are encouraging.

Data site FBref have compared the Tottenham target to West Ham No.20 Jarrod Bowen, which the AC Milan forward should take as a huge compliment, given the England international’s stunning record of 66 goals and 43 assists in 223 appearances for the Hammers.
Okafor was also likened to Morgan Rogers and Gabriel Martinelli – so he is clearly a player of promise despite a tough time in Milan.
