Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Franck Kessie ahead of the January transfer window.

Links between Spurs and the Milan midfielder go back a number of years.

However, Kessie’s current contract expires in the summer and he’s yet to pen a new deal.

Therefore, Tottenham stand a decent chance of landing him next year.

That said, Spurs are bound to have competition for Kessie’s signature.

Milan Live claimed earlier this week that Tottenham and PSG are willing to meet his wage demands.

The 24-year-old is reportedly after around £163,000-a-week.

Journalist Enzo Bucchioni, writing on Tuttomercatoweb, has now claimed that Kessie could go for as little as £21.5million.

“If an interesting offer came (€25-30million, or £21.5-25.5million), Kessie – who doesn’t want to renew – could go,” he wrote.

“This is (for Milan) to put funds together to invest in a defender.”

Could Spurs land “extraordinary” midfielder?

Tottenham would certainly benefit from having Kessie in their ranks.

Kessie has been superb for Milan since joining from Atalanta in 2019 for a reported £21.6million.

The £74,000-a-week ace has clocked up 203 appearances for the Rossoneri and registered 33 goals and 16 assists.

In addition, Kessie has also won 52 caps for Ivory Coast.

Gennaro Gattuso, a top midfield enforcer in his playing days, is a big fan of Kessie.

“Kessie is clearly stronger than me when I was a player,” Forza Italian Football quoted him as saying in 2018.

“He has seven or eight goals per season in him.”

And Vincenzo Montella described Kessie as “extraordinary” in 2017.

“He (Kessie) is an extraordinary player, (boasts) sublime intelligence,” Montella told Goal.com.
