Tottenham Hotspur should think about moving for Internazionale star Marcelo Brozovic in January.
The midfielder put in a solid display for the Italian giants during the teams’ Champions League clash on Tuesday.
Inter ran out 2-1 winners at San Siro, after falling behind to a deflected Christian Eriksen strike.
A vicious volley from Mauro Icardi put the hosts on terms, before Matias Vecino headed in the winner at the death to break Spurs hearts.
It wasn’t a vintage performance from Inter, who have started the season slowly as a whole, but Brozovic did catch the eye operating at holding midfield.
What he brings
Brozovic showcased his ability to dictate the tempo of games against the north Londoners.
He is brilliant at collecting the ball from the defence and spraying passes from deep, and is usually always an option for wingers who are struggling to find a way through.
This was also evident at the World Cup.
He was excellent alongside Ivan Rakitic at holding midfield, which allowed Luka Modric the license to roam.
He was preferred as a starter to Mateo Kovacic which in itself is saying something.
Brozovic is a fine player, and could bring great things to the Tottenham midfield.
A replacement for the struggling Eric Dier?
Tottenham should consider making a move for the playmaker in January or the summer.
Eric Dier is struggling to impact games for the Lilywhites and some are questioning his ability to make things happen.
Dier is more tough-tackling than Brozovic but perhaps Spurs need someone more complementary to Mousa Dembele, who is an aggressive, ball-carrying midfield general.
Valued at £31.5 million by Transfermarkt, Brozovic could well be that man.
