Tottenham Hotspur have announced defender Cameron Carter-Vickers has joined Championship outfit Luton Town on loan for the rest of the season.
The 22-year-old academy product is heading back to England’s second tier, after spending the first half of the season at Stoke City.
That move didn’t really work out, with Carter-Vickers making 15 appearances for the Potters but none since November.

The USA international has now headed to Luton to try and get regular minutes, with the club hoping to avoid relegation to League One.
Town are currently bottom of the pile on goal difference, six points adrift of safety.
The loan move is Carter-Vickers’ fifth temporary switch, and one has the feeling it could be his last chance to impress with his contract expiring in the summer of 2021.
The Southend-born centre-back has only ever made four appearances for the Spurs first-team, so he needs a strong stint.

With Jan Vertonghen having not yet penned a new deal there is perhaps some added motivation for him to take his chance with both hands.
That said, the emergence of youngster Japhet Tanganga could make life difficult.
Spurs fans react
Some Spurs fans on social media didn’t seem overly affected by Carter-Vickers’ loan exit, although one or two did express their frustration at the seeming lack of development:
