Tottenham are confident of landing Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma this summer as Jose Mourinho prepares to bolster his defence.
According to the Express, the Spurs boss has earmarked the Blues enforcer as a potential signing for the transfer window.
The 25-year-old has featured 36 times in all competitions for Chelsea this season but could make way for Frank Lampard to make additions to his team.
The Blues have been linked with a move for Declan Rice in the summer and some players look certain to leave.
Zouma is likely to cost in the region of £25 million, whilst the powerful defender is also attracting interest from Everton.
The Frenchman spent time on loan with the Toffees during 2018/19 but the valuation may put them off.
It will be interesting to see whether or not Chelsea will consider lowering their asking price, although they could depend on whether or not they can land their own summer targets.
Zouma arrived at Chelsea in 2014 from Saint-Etienne. He has spent time on loan with Stoke as well as the Toffees and has also collected five France caps.
Spurs will almost certainly require a central defender for next season. Toby Alderweireld is the primary choice at centre-back but Jan Vertonghen could leave the club.
Zouma could prove a decent addition to the Spurs ranks and his strength would be a useful asset for Mourinho.
When he was playing regular football with Everton he proved capable as a Premier League player.
Under Lampard he has started 33 games in all competitions and Chelsea will feel they can justify the £25 million price tag.
Tottenham look set to miss out on Champions League football next season and Mourinho will hope to build a squad capable of challenging next time around.
