Tottenham enjoyed a pretty decent 2018/19 campaign which ended with them reaching the Champions League Final.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men were defeated 2-0 by Liverpool in Madrid but reaching the final will have still delighted the club’s supporters.
It could be all change at Spurs during the summer.
Not since January 2018 has the club signed a player and Pochettino will certainly be entering the transfer market over the coming months.
The caveat could be that some players could also leave.
Danish striker Christian Eriksen is one of those who could well depart during the offseason.
The attacking midfielder is out of contract next summer and the club could cash in on their influential performer to avoid losing him for free.
Since arriving at Spurs in 2013, Eriksen has bagged 49 goals and claimed 64 assists from 206 appearances.
It is fair to say his departure would represent a body blow to Pochettino.
The supporters would also rather see the Dane stick around the club and a contract extension would be music to their ears.
Eriksen netted his 27th international goal last night by scoring from the penalty spot in Denmark’s 5-1 thrashing of Georgia.
Spurs were quick to mention the 27-year-old’s goalscoring performance on Twitter and that gave the club’s supporters a chance to remind Eriksen just how much he is adored.
We rounded up the best tweets in response to the club’s official tweet regarding the playmaker.
Lol guys don't disrespect him. Just because he's open to leave doesn't mean he's a snake. He's been great for us for so many years…

He is the most intelligent player on the team and should be respected much more. I understand why he wants to leave. If he really wants to leave the team, hopefully, he finds the best place for him
