Tottenham are considering a move for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard during the January transfer window, according to 90Min.
The 21-year-old has fired 13 goals in 17 appearances for the Hoops this season and is also attracting interest from Manchester United and Chelsea.
Celtic are still in the Europa League and won’t want to lose their prized asset during this month.
Tottenham could prove too good to turn down, however, and it remains to be seen whether they will enter with a bid.
Boss Jose Mourinho will be keen to put his own stamp on the squad this month. With Harry Kane injured, his need for another striker is pretty evident.
Edouard has proved a revelation at Celtic Park since arriving from PSG in 2017. He cost £8 million and has netted 49 goals and registered 27 assists in 112 appearances.
Celtic won’t want to lose him at all but it could be inevitable eventually.
If the Hoops were to lose him during the current window it would leave them in urgent need of a replacement.
TBR View – Edouard could be the perfect signing for Tottenham
The youngster could fit nicely into the current ethos at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. He is young, hungry and a determined character who would work his backside off in the Premier League.
With Kane currently sidelined with a torn hamstring, Spurs need reinforcement in the final third.
Edouard would probably come at an affordable price for Tottenham. Celtic value him at around £30 million (Daily Record) and he would provide quality competition for the England captain.
Mourinho likes his strikers to be able to play and Edouard certainly fits that billing. He is quick, technically gifted and knows where the net is.
