Tottenham cannot let Arsenal sneak ahead of them in race for Malcom on loan

Arsenal are in the hunt for a loan deal to sign Barcelona outcast Malcom before the transfer window closes on Thursday night, according to the Sun.

The Gunners are shopping in the loan market this month and the Sun report that the situation of the Brazilian winger at the Nou Camp has attracted Unai Emery’s attention.

He is not getting a look-in with the Spanish champions – and the arrival of Kevin-Prince Boateng is only going to worsen his chances – and Barca are reportedly willing to listen to offers over a loan deal.

But Tottenham have already been linked with Malcom this month, as they seek to battle a growing injury crisis which has contributed to their elimination from both domestic cup competitions within the space of a few days.

And if there is a prospect that Malcom will be allowed to leave the Nou Camp before the end of the week, Tottenham must muscle their way to the front of the queue.

They cannot let their local rivals nip ahead of them at the last minute for a player they have reportedly had their eye on since before he even moved to Barcelona.

It would be another hammer blow in a testing week for Spurs if Malcom pitched up across town.
