Tottenham can forget hellish September as October break is going perfectly

Tottenham are having a fantastic break with Rodon starring.

The Lilywhites had the worst international break imaginable in September.

However, now Spurs find themselves a wonderful break this time around.

Not only have Spurs so far managed to avoid any injuries but they’ve seen some impressive performances.

Hugo Lloris captained France to a nations league title, following on from his 2018 World Cup success.

The Argentine pair of Giovani Lo Celso and Cristian Romero shone in a 3-0 win over Uruguay.

Lo Celso picked up a pair of assists whilst Romero got his clean sheet.

Steven Bergwijn got a break from international duty as he’s close to an injury return.

Harry Kane got a break as England beat Andorra 5-0.

Also, Joe Rodon, Tottenham’s £15m Welsh star, put in a man of the match display as Wales beat Estonia 1-0.

Compare this to the way that September went for the Lilywhites and it’s day and night.

There have been no player’s arrest mid-game, no injuries and no signs that the break will destroy Spurs’ momentum.

If anything, the steady game time for some and rests for others will only help the Lilywhites kick on.

Nuno Espirito Santo arrested his sides slump with a 2-1 win over Aston Villa before the international break.

Now, though, when his side returns to action they’ll be in a position to kick on.

Spurs next game is a trip to Newcastle.

This will be a game that will have many eyes on it after the Geordies’ recent takeover.

However, with Spurs’ fantastic break going under the radar, this could be a chance for Tottenham to show what they’re made of.

A dominant win could see Spurs relay their ambitions of making the top four.

A dreadful few weeks followed the Lilywhites awful time international break but at least lightening hasn’t struck twice.

It’s at least a cause for optimism for the fans for the coming weeks.
