Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund are lining up a bid for Crystal Palace talisman Wilfried Zaha, according to the Daily Mail.
They report that Lucien Favre’s men are lining up a £44m swoop for the Ivory Coast international after receiving a windfall from Chelsea for Christian Pulisic.
There has apparently been contact made by the German side to see if Zaha would be interest in moving to the Bundesliga, after spending the entirety of his career in English football so far.
Tottenham have reportedly been interested in Zaha since the summer and apparently have a £50m kitty to spend this month if Mauricio Pochettino so wishes.
Pochettino has insisted that he is looking for new additions if he can find players of the right quality and Zaha likely fits that bill – he is arguably the Premier League’s best player outside the top six.
It will be encouraging that the bidding for Zaha does not appear to have gone outside of the sphere they can afford and if Zaha continues to improve as he is currently, £44m will appear cheap in years to come.
As Dortmund and Tottenham prepare to go toe-to-toe in the Champions League, they could be set for blows before then if Pochettino wants to rekindle his interest in Zaha.
