Tottenham Hotspur boss Nuno has described Arsenal as a ‘very good’ team after facing them yesterday in a pre-season friendly on the club’s official website.

Tottenham win

Tottenham ran out 1-0 winners during the game, with Heung-Min Son scoring the only goal of the contest.

Arsenal never really got into full flight during the game, and their defeat brought to a close a rather disappointing pre-season for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Arsenal have brought in Albert Sambi Lokonga and Ben White this summer, but their squad still remains similar to the one which disappointed last term.

And defeats against both Chelsea and Tottenham have left question marks being asked, as the new season draws closer.

But Nuno actually had some positive words for Arsenal and his own side after the game.

“There were good movements and offensive chances that have to be finished well,” he said.

“[These are] good signs, because we played a very good team. Our local rivals. It was a good game, so a lot of aspects that we have to take on board.”

Season starts soon

The test over whether Arsenal are actually a ‘very good’ team and have improved on last season will begin on Friday evening.

Arteta’s men are set to play in the Premier League’s curtain raiser, as they face newly promoted Brentford.

Arsenal go into the game as favourites to pick up the three points, but Brentford have already spoken about the fact that they have no fear at stepping up the leagues.

And with the deadly Ivan Toney up-front, Brentford should have the firepower to capitalise if Arsenal are not at the top of their game.
