Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in a deal for Atletico Madrid winger Thomas Lemar. Spurs have been tentatively linked with the player for a number of weeks now but this week has seen The Independent go into detail on a potential move.

They state that Spurs are considering a loan approach for the France international. The fee involved would be €6 million (£5m), with a potential €60 million (£51m) option-to-buy inserted into any deal.

It would be a welcome transfer for Tottenham, who are clearly in need of refreshing after Mauricio Pochettino’s exit.

It would also be, according to reports, a chance for Mourinho to finally get his hands on the French attacker.

As reported by The Mirror in 2017, Mourinho was keen on bringing Lemar to Old Trafford when the Frenchman was still at Monaco. That was reportedly as a response to being unable to secure the signature of a former Tottenham hero, Gareth Bale, from Real Madrid.

Unfortunately for English suitors, Lemar eventually joined the Welshman in the Spanish capital but at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Now it seems he has a chance to get his man again and Tottenham fans will be hoping he gets his wish.
