Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly looking to bolster their defensive ranks in the January transfer window.
According to TEAMtalk, Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou has his eyes set on bringing Lloyd Kelly to N17.
The outlet claims that the Bournemouth defender is a player Postecoglou is keen on.
The Tottenham boss is eager to add more quality to his defensive options, added the report.
At present, Spurs have a superb first-choice centre-back pairing of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.
However, as we saw just before the international break, they real strength in depth beyond those two.
With that in mind, Kelly is a great shout for Spurs for a number of reasons.
Tottenham target has ‘everything he needs to be a top, top player’
The £13million man is very talented, in his prime and, crucially, has considerable Premier League experience.
Several years ago, Newcastle United Eddie Howe – then at Bournemouth – described Kelly as a footballer who has “got everything he needs to be a top, top player“.
Kelly is also very rapid. As per Squawka, he was one of the fastest centre-backs in the Premier League last term, clocking up a top speed of 35.42km/h.

This is very much on par with Van de Ven. As per The Mirror, the Spurs star has clocked up a top speed of 35.5km/h in the Premier League this term.
Better still, Kelly’s contract expires at the end of the season. If he doesn’t renew his contract, you’d think the Cherries would be open to selling him and recoup at least some money.
If the Spurs can wait until the summer, they could even snap him up for free. This would be an absolute bargain for such a good player.
Tottenham will certainly fancy their chances of signing Kelly next year, but with so many top clubs also in pursuit, it’ll be a fairly tough battle for his signature.
