Tottenham attacker Lucas Moura has explained he’s pleased with his individual contribution this season, despite his form dropping off in 2019.
Spurs signed the Brazilian winger back in January 2018 for £23million (BBC) and gave him his first taste of English football.
He is a versatile attacker that is lethal out wide with his pace, but has often been used in a more central striker role too by manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The South American has eight goals in 36 games across all competitions this season, but doesn’t look as sharp as he did in the early months.
Moura has made just two starts in the Premier League during 2019 too after falling somewhat out of favour and doesn’t feature in the best team as it stands.
He’s explained that he is happy with the role he has this campaign and is pleased in North London.
“I’m very happy. It’s my first (full) season in the Premier League and for me, it’s the most difficult championship in the world,” Moura said, as quoted by the club’s official website.
“I’ve played a lot of games, I’ve scored a few important goals for the team and the most important thing is to be ready to help because we have a very good squad and everyone can play, everyone can do a good job.”

TBR’s View:
Moura has massively impressed in glimpses this season and he looked unstoppable in the early weeks of the season.
But the 26-year-old is definitely nowhere near that level right now and has so much more to offer.
He could be a pivotal player for Spurs in their push for the top four and the Champions League quarter-final with Manchester City if he sorts his act out.
Moura’s electric pace and intelligent movement can terrorise any defence, but he needs to play himself back into form and into Pochettino’s XI.
