Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly about to receive an absolutely ridiculous request over Cristian Romero, with the Daily Mail reporting that Argentina will ask clubs to leave their players out of the last match before the World Cup.
Romero has become a vital part of the Spurs side after joining on an initial loan deal last year, which was then made permanent for £42 million in August (Sky Sports).
The 24-year-old has been sidelined for Spurs’ last two games against Bournemouth and Marseille. It’s unclear whether the centre-back will return in time for the game against Liverpool this weekend.
But it seems that Argentina already has one eye on making sure the player is ready for the World Cup this month.

The Daily Mail reports that Premier League clubs will reject Argentina’s request to leave their players out of the final round of matches before the tournament in Qatar gets underway.
The outlet claims that one English club has already been asked the question by the Argentinian FA, but it was instantly rejected.
The unnamed club have apparently made other Premier League teams that could be affected aware of Argentina’s request.
Romero is one of six players in England’s top-flight that represents Argentina at international level.
The Albicelestes want Romero and their other players to miss the round of Premier League games on November 12-13 so they can start their World Cup preparations slightly early.

Tottenham about to receive ridiculous Romero request
Next month’s World Cup in Qatar will be a completely different experience for both the players and the national sides.
Just seven days separates the opening match of the tournament and the last Premier League game before the squads meet-up.
But you can understand why Premier League clubs are apparently going to reject Argentina’s request, especially Spurs.
Romero is a hugely important part of the backline and if he’s available to play, Spurs will need him in the side.
Antonio Conte’s men face a tough test against Leeds United on November 12 and cannot afford to be without any of their key players.
