Alasdair Gold says that Davinson Sanchez is more likely to leave Tottenham Hotspur than Eric Dier this summer in his latest Youtube video.

Sanchez to go?

Gold actually said that Tottenham are prepared to listen to offers for both Sanchez and Dier, as they look to raise funds.

Tottenham want two new central defenders, with Cristian Romero’s transfer nearing.

If Spurs are to sign Romero, Tottenham’s transfer activity may quieten down though.

But Gold suggests that if Sanchez goes then he would expect any funds raised to be invested in new players.

“Spurs I was always told had the intention of trying to get two new centre-backs,” Gold said.

“It will depend now on whether Davinson Sanchez goes. He is the one you’d imagine – out of him and Eric Dier – that is more likely to move on.

“Purely because there’s more of a market for Sanchez. He was at the Copa America and played decently. Sevilla are interested and there’s a couple of others around Europe are.

“If he was to move out the door then Spurs would start looking at other players on the list.”

No tears shed?

Sanchez’s departure at Tottenham would be unlikely to be greeted with too much devastation.

When the powerful centre-back was brought to Spurs for a then club record fee it was widely expected that he would become one of the most talented defenders in the world.

However, he has never quite developed into the player that Tottenham hoped.

Sanchez still is too rash with his defending at times, and has made too many errors.

And if Spurs could let him go and bring a player like Jules Kounde in, it is hard to argue that they wouldn’t be better off for it.
