Tottenham are more likely to bid for £60m playmaker than Arsenal this summer

Tottenham and Arsenal are the biggest of rivals on the pitch, and, every now and then, they also clash in the transfer market.

Indeed, Spurs and Arsenal often go after the same players with the likes of Gabriel Jesus and James Maddison said to have been targets for both clubs in recent years before making moves to one or the other.

Now, both Tottenham and Arsenal are said to be keen on Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze.

Speaking on Last Word on Spurs, Ben Jacobs has been discussing Eze’s future, claiming that Tottenham are actually ahead of Arsenal in terms of their interest in Eze.

Tottenham more interested in Eze than Arsenal are

Jacobs shared what he knows about Spurs and Eze.

“When one club enquires, every club enquires. As soon as the Euros finish we might see some movement on this one,” Jacobs said.

“You’re right that Manchester City like this player, but Tottenham are there and I think they’re ahead if you like in terms of how concrete they are that he’s someone they wish to move on than Arsenal who have been linked with Eberechi Eze as well.”

Tottenham move makes more sense

A move to Tottenham makes a lot more sense for Eze than a move to Arsenal.

Spurs have plenty of space in their squad for Eze to come in, be that in the number 10 position or down the left flank with Heung-Min Son moving centrally once again.

Meanwhile, at Arsenal, there isn’t that much room for opportunity.

Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli are both brilliant options down the left, while Martin Odegaard is a nailed on starter through the middle.

The fact that a player like Emile Smith Rowe is having to move on goes to show how little room there is in this Arsenal squad, and it’s understandable that they’re not pushing so hard to sign Eze at the moment.
