Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte has found himself linked with Juventus in recent weeks.

However, the Spurs manager recently rubbished the speculation, saying he’s “happy” at N17.

In addition, Conte also described the speculation as “disrespectful” and “incredible”.

Now, there seems to be a growing realisation in Italy that the Tottenham boss won’t be returning to Juve.

Conte won three Serie A titles in a row with the Turin club, before leaving to take the reins of the Italy national team.

Now, Juve are struggling, sitting eighth in the table, 10 points behind leaders Napoli.

This has led to speculation around Massimiliano Allegri’s future, which led to the rumours about Conte.

But now, Italian journalist Massimo Brambati insists the Bianconeri have likely missed their chance to bring him back, doing so through misplaced pride

Quoted by Il Bianconero and transcribed by Sport Witness, Brambati claims that “Tottenham are about to lock him down”.

He further explains: “I would have focused and would still focus on Antonio Conte, to whom I would give the keys to Juve and also the market, to build a winning project in five years.

“Unfortunately, the most serious mistake of the Juventus club was not to bet, out of pride and for reasons of principle, on the Lecce coach, who could now be armoured by Tottenham.

“In London they saw him working and are realising who they have their hands on.”

Great for Spurs fans – TBR View

Conte took an ailing Tottenham side last year and dragged them into the Champions League places.

While they’re far from the finished product and have suffered some poor results, they still seem on the right track.

Credit to Conte for publicly rubbishing the speculation. It’s also great for Spurs fans that the general consensus in Italy is that Juve have missed their opportunity.
