Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are two great rivals on the pitch, and now, they could be about to go head to head in the transfer market too.
Indeed, according to Dan Kilpatrick, speaking on the Sky Sports Transfer Talk Podcast, both London clubs are keen on Conor Gallagher.
The reporter says that both Spurs and West Ham would pay up to £40m to sign Gallagher this month, and this deal could be viable as the ownership at Chelsea would be open to a potential sale, but Mauricio Pochettino wouldn’t necessarily be too happy with this move.

West Ham and Spurs willing to pay big money for Gallagher
Kilpatrick shared what he knows about the midfielder.
“They have to be careful, it will be interesting to see what happens with Gallagher this month, Spurs and possibly West Ham would pay £30m or £40m for him. I’m sure the Chelsea owners would like that, but I think Pochettino would hate that, so keep an eye on that one,” Kilpatrick said.
Worth it
If Spurs or West Ham can get Gallagher for £40m then they should definitely press ahead with this deal.
It’s not everyday you get the chance to sign one of Chelsea’s best players, and certainly not at the age of just 23.
Indeed, while Gallagher has already proven himself to be a top-class Premier League player, the fact that he’s only 23 years old makes this signing all the more exciting.
He may well have a decade of top-level football ahead of him, and paying £40m to solve a problem in midfield for the next 10 years is a great deal no matter which way you look at it.
Of course, Pochettino’s protestations may have an impact on how this deal progresses, but if Chelsea’s board do indeed override the manager here, Spurs and West Ham should be on red alert.
