Fabrizio Romano claims Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson is now ready to leave Old Trafford. England man Henderson wants to go according to Romano, which could hand both Tottenham and Newcastle a transfer boost.
Henderson, 24, remains second choice at Manchester United. The £40million-rated (MEN) goalkeeper signed a new deal at Old Trafford with the hope he would overtake David De Gea. But that has not occurred.
90Min report that Dean Henderson has admirers at Newcastle, despite the array of goalkeepers under Eddie Howe. Martin Dubravka, Karl Darlow, Freddie Woodman and Mark Gillespie are all options between the sticks.
However, Newcastle are not alone in their pursuit of Henderson. The Mail recently reported that Spurs are keeping tabs on ex-Sheffield United loanee Henderson and his struggles at boyhood club Old Trafford.
Now, both Tottenham and Newcastle have received a boost in their pursuit of Henderson. Not only does Romano state Ajax are not interested – but that Henderson is now looking to leave Old Trafford.
Romano on Henderson: Newcastle or Tottenham, for England star?
Well, Tottenham – as things stand – need a goalkeeper more so than Newcastle. The Toon, as stated, have options in goal. While Woodman, Gillespie and Darlow have been questioned, Dubravka can be one of the league’s best.
For Tottenham, they need a goalkeeper. They have Hugo Lloris who is out of contract in the summer and Pierluigi Gollini – who might not join permanently. Lloris deserves a new deal, but Henderson is a brilliant replacement.
