Tottenham and Manchester United could both battle for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic this summer but Spurs face an uphill task, based on Lazio’s value of the player.

The Daily Mail claims that Lazio may be open to selling Milinkovic-Savic this summer. They claim that £80m could be enough to persuade them to sell the 25-year-old.

Spurs, Chelsea, and Man United are all expected to be keen on landing the midfielder. After a number of impressive seasons in Serie A, Milinkovic-Savic looks primed to take another league by storm.

However, while the £80m price might well put clubs off as is, there could be even more concerning news for Tottenham when it comes to Lazio’s value of their star player.

Lazio value Milinkovic-Savic higher, a bidding war could ensue

A couple of seasons ago, Lazio were inundated with enquiries for Milinkovic-Savic but managed to keep hold of their man.

Worryingly for clubs like Spurs, though, is the fee they were demanding back then. According to Talksport, Lazio were asking for around £131m for the Serbian midfielder. That was enough, at the time, to put the likes of Manchester United off.

That shows just highly the Italian club value their man. And while they might be saying £80m at this moment in time, they’ll probably hope to land even more cash.

Spurs are going to struggle to compete even at the £80m figure. If Lazio decides to push that value into the hundreds of millions once again, then Jose Mourinho can kiss goodbye to his chances of landing Milikovic-Savic.
