Report: Levy will attempt to bring in ‘elite’ manager if Conte quits on Tottenham

Antonio Conte might have only been with Tottenham for a few months but there is already talk of the Italian walking away from the club before we even get to the summer.

Conte has enjoyed a decent enough start as boss of Tottenham. He guided Spurs to nine unbeaten in his first lot of Premier League games, although results have since gone down. Further, he has also given a revealing interview this week to Sky Italy where he seemed to criticise the club’s January transfer policy.

Energy is said to be being honed ready for the summer window. Fabio Paratici will be tasked with bringing in quality additions for Tottenham, having allowed four first-team players to leave in January. However, whether Conte will be there to oversee that summer overhaul remains to be seen.

And according to The Telegraph, if Conte was to leave, then Daniel Levy would be picking up the phone to Mauricio Pochettino once again.

The report claims that Levy tried to get Pochettino when Jose Mourinho left. And it seems the former Spurs boss remains firmly on Levy’s agenda should Conte walk away before even a year in charge.

TBR’s View: Pochettino Back To Spurs Looks Inevitable

His name seems to come up whenever there is a conversation about the Tottenham manager’s position. And really, it would be a surprise to not see him back one day.

Especially so, while Daniel Levy is there. Pochettino has had a rough time of things at PSG. However, he is still a capable manager and of course, Pep Guardiola has insisted previously that Poch is an ‘elite’ manager.

Certainly, it would do the club no harm in their quest to convince Harry Kane to remain at the club.
