Tottenham and Leeds will battle it out to try and sign Georgian winger, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, with a deal on the cards thanks to the ongoing situation in Russia.

Kvaratskhelia has left Russia and doesn’t want to return to Rubin Kazan due to the conflict with Ukraine at the moment.

And according to Il Mattino, both Tottenham and Leeds are the teams sniffing around Kvaratskhelia, who is said to be willing to wait until the summer to decide his future. It’s claimed he has already told Kazan that he has no intention of returning to the country. With that, a summer switch is on the cards.

For Leeds, interest in Kvaratskhelia is nothing new. Just last year, reports claimed that the Whites were in talks to sign Kvaratskhelia but a £26m asking price meant a deal never got over the line. However, with Leeds likely to lose Raphinha this summer, interest in the 21-year-old is back on the cards.

Tottenham, meanwhile, are also set for a big summer and are said to have Kvaratskhelia on their radar as well.

There could be a lot of this in the coming months. Russia is in the news for all the wrong reasons but when it comes to footballers, we could end up seeing plenty move to England.

Leeds and Spurs, then, are simply trying to exploit that situation and land Kvaratskhelia. The price might be even less now and both clubs will see it as a good time to strike.

Pace, trickery, and an eye for goal with 5 in 12 for Georgia, you can see why Leeds and Spurs are keen here.
