Tottenham and Everton reportedly tracking in-form striker Donyell Malen

Tottenham Hotspur and Everton are both keen on the talented Dutch international.

Tottenham Hotspur and Everton are both reportedly interested in a move for PSV Eindhoven star Donyell Malen, according to reports.

Italian website CalcioMercato is suggesting that Tottenham and Everton are both big fans of the player, who recently made his debut for Dutch national team.

It comes amid an excellent start to the season for the player. The 20-year-old has scored 11 goals in 14 games for PSV, including five in one game as PSV destroyed Vitesse. He also scored against his former club Ajax at the weekend.

Tottenham fans would certainly love to sign him and make him a hit to get one over their fierce rivals Arsenal. Malen was a youth-team player with the Gunners. Everton, meanwhile, have the man who took him to PSV, Marcel Brands, in charge of their transfer recruitment.

So there is plenty of reason for both clubs to be interested in the player.

Malen would be a great recruit for either club. Tottenham have done plenty of business in the Dutch market before and Malen could provide the extra coverage they need for star striker Harry Kane.

Everton still need more reinforcements and Malen makes sense. Brands knows him and the player is also represented by super-agent Mino Raiola. The Italian has a strong relationship with Everton’s director of football which saw the Toffees snap up Moise Kean in the summer.

However, here’s the pinch of salt. CalcioMercato can often be a reputable source, however, this report has little in way of substance. It is also worth noting that it refers to Malen as an Ajax player, not PSV.

Make of that what you will, but fans of both clubs will surely be hoping their team is interested in the talented Dutchman.
