Tottenham Hotspur has made steady if unspectacular progress under Jose Mourinho, finishing the season well enough and then making a few moves in the market this summer.
The signing of Matt Doherty should prove a shrewd one for the club, while Joe Hart and Pierre-Emile Hojberg have also arrived at the club.

Next season, then, should prove to be a successful one if Mourinho can get the best out of his players and keep the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli, and Heung-Min Son off the treatment table.
But, they will still be lagging behind the very best in the PL you would think. And to bridge the gap, amidst talk of a potential return to England, Spurs and Daniel Levy should be doing all they can to try and entice Gareth Bale back to his former club.

The Welsh star has admitted in the past few days he is open to leaving Real Madrid and has not counted out a return to Premier League football.
Wages the big issue but a bit of magic could be weaved by Mourinho and Levy
Obviously, the huge issue Spurs face in bringing Bale back is the massive wages he earns in Spain. Bale reportedly earns a mouth-watering £350k-a-week in Madrid. That sort of figure puts him well above Spurs’ top earner in Harry Kane, who gets around the £200k mark.
But if Levy and Mourinho are serious about pressing on and getting back to the top four and beyond, Bale is a player who can make it happen.

Yes, he’s had a few tricky years in Madrid but still delivers. Champions League finals, Cup finals, big international goals or moments. Bale has done it all.
So while the figures may seem ludicrous, you just never know. There will never be a better time for Spurs if they do ever wish to reunite with Bale so if there is even a sniff that a deal can be done, then Levy and his team have to move now.
