Tottenham actually think £70,000-a-week player wants to join them this summer

Tottenham are carrying out an exciting project under Ange Postecoglou – one the club believe has now enticed a transfer target to join.

Spurs have recruited smartly to create a balanced squad, which includes leaders such as Cristian Romero, James Maddison and Heung-min Son, as well as top talents like Lucas Bergvall, Pape Sarr and Archie Gray.

The future looks very bright for Tottenham – and Spurs now believe one target wants to jump on the bandwagon in N17…

Tottenham think Dominic Solanke wants to join

A story from Give Me Sport now states that Tottenham feel Dominic Solanke is keen to secure a move to Spurs this summer.

It is said that Spurs want Bournemouth to lower their current demands for the England international, with the Cherries currently holding out for the striker’s £65m release clause to be triggered.

In the meantime – however – Tottenham believe that agreeing personal terms with Solanke will not be an issue, with those in N17 adamant that the Bournemouth No.9 is eager to join.

Give Me Sport claim that Tottenham deem the 26-year-old to be worth £50m.

Reports suggested that Spurs wanted to sell Richarlison and use the money to sign Solanke, although the Brazil international now looks set to stay in north London after a revealing interview.

Ange Postecoglou could finally secure a proper No.9 at Spurs

Postecoglou has been without a traditional No.9 ever since he arrived at Tottenham back in June 2023.

The Australian has still been blessed with some top forwards, such as Son, Richarlison, Timo Werner, Brennan Johnson and Dejan Kulusevski – although none of these attackers are proper, physical No.9 style strikers in the mould of Solanke, Harry Kane and Ivan Toney.

Spurs desperately need someone who can hold the ball up and bring other attackers into play, while also scoring goals themselves at crucial times when the tide is against Tottenham.

Now – however – Postecoglou could finally find that important cog in Solanke, who led the line expertly for Bournemouth in the 2023/24 campaign.

The man from Basingstoke scored 19 goals and provided three assists in 38 Premier League appearances last season, proving to be worth every penny of his £70,000-a-week salary as he kept the Cherries in the Premier League.

Furthermore, the fact Solanke managed to appear in all 38 Premier League games last term, playing 90 minutes on 30 occasions, suggests he is also an incredibly fit footballer who will be able to handle the demands of UEFA Europa League football as well.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Tottenham are confident a deal can be done – Spurs are even said to believe Solanke could be signed before their Premier League opener against Leicester on Monday 19th August.
