Tottenham 5-0 Swansea: Three things we learnt

Toothless Swans and in form Harry Kane

For a side that had netted five goals in their previous Premier League fixture, against Crystal Palace, Swansea looked toothless and devoid of any creativity or invention on Saturday afternoon. The Swans mustered just one shot against Tottenham, their worst shot tally since they achieved promotion, and you sense that they simply lack the quality needed in the final third of the pitch. Bob Bradley will certainly be looking to add some offensive talent to his attack when the transfer window opens in January, but then again based on this performances he could also do with a new back four and midfield!

In contrast Harry Kane is bang in form after recovering from an injury set back earlier in the season. The striker found the net twice against Swansea and the local-boy-come-good has now scored twenty one goals in in twenty eight Premier League appearances over the duration of 2016. Only Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero has netted more times this calendar year and, based on the widely accepted view that the Argentinian is one of the best players in the world, it is safe to say that Kane is developing into one of the leading strikers in European football.
