It would be fair to say that Yerry Mina did not have the best of games for his nation last night. The Everton defender was poor as Colombia were comfortably beaten by Uruguay 3-0 in their World Cup qualifier.
His Everton team-mate James Rodriguez did not fare much better either in what was a dismal display from Carlos Queiroz’s men.
Mina was sent off for receiving two yellow cards in the game and was at fault for the opening goal of the game as his pass into midfield was intercepted before Edinson Cavani slotted home.

Mina’s display, however, has seen the star of Colombia’s World Cup in 2018, hammered in the press.
El Tiempo blasted it as a ‘performance to be forgotten’ whilst popular Colombian football commentator Ivan Mejia had even stronger words to say.
He took to Twitter to slam Mina and Colombia’s display which he described as ‘torture’. He also suggested Mina should go back to doing his dance videos which proved so popular with Everton fans at the start of the season, when the Toffees were suddenly world-beaters.
This latest display will not do much to help Mina maintain a place in the Everton starting XI, especially with Mason Holgate fit again.
