Gareth Southgate has now been singing the praises of Arsenal linked Marc Guehi after another composed display for England.
Guehi started for Southgate’s side again in the absence of John Stones and now looks to be in contention for a permanent spot.

The defender has been linked with Arsenal in the past and may now be an option the club explores again in the near future.
And speaking to Channel 4 after England’s draw in Skopje, Southgate was very impressed with Guehi.
He said: “Marc has been excellent. He has really in every game he has shown great composure.
“His defending has been good. He has taken what I have seen for his club into international and we all know that is not straight forward but he is really looking like a top player.”
Of course, these performances for England are bound to be raising Guehi’s asking price for any clubs like Arsenal who are interested.
A fee of around £60m has been mentioned in the past, but the 23-year-old is now proving to be an international level talent.
Arsenal linked Marc Guehi is proving his talent for England
It’ll certainly be interesting to see which positions Mikel Arteta does target as he continues to improve his Arsenal squad.
A central midfielder is often linked in January – particularly because of Thomas Partey’s injuries.

However, the renewal of an existing contract in the squad now may need to take priority given a recent ‘standstill’.
Otherwise, Arsenal are always linked with a striker of late, with Ivan Toney a name often mentioned.
However, Arteta has often sprung a surprise with his targets in the past.
And given how well Guehi is now performing for England, Arsenal may see it necessary to accelerate their reported interest whilst the defender is still at Crystal Palace.
Although Arteta has Jakub Kiwior to compete with Gabriel Magalhaes on the left, William Saliba is lacking competition.
And should either get injured, as we saw with Saliba at the tail end of last season, it could prove very destabilising for this Arsenal project.
But with Marc Guehi on board, it would be a very different story.
