Claudio Bravo
Guardiola might opt to replace the aging Willy Caballero as back-up, who will surely follow Pellegrini out of the door in the summer regardless of Pep’s plans. However, due to the style of football which Guardiola asks his sides to play, it might not even be out of the question that Joe Hart’s undisputed starting role comes into the question after the summer. With Hart not being the most assured goalkeeper on the ball, a player well versed in playing with the ball at his feet may become an important part of Guardiola’s puzzle.
Bravo has been the name most linked with City since Guardiola was announced as their new manager, and it might even make sense for Barcelona to move the Chilean along given that Marc-Andre ter Stegen has bags more potential and, after two years sharing the jersey, probably deserves to be backed as number one outright. Furthermore, Pep has managed to attract some very good goalkeepers to back-up Manuel Neuer at Bayern, so even if Hart remains number one at City, goalkeepers like Pepe Reina and Sven Ulreich; both highly talented and worthy of playing at big clubs, have been attracted by the chance to train under Guardiola in recent times.
