Top 5 signings Manchester City could make under Pep Guardiola
Having long been in the offing since his decision not to renew at Bayern Munich at the end of his contract, Pep Guardiola last week finally announced the next chapter in his already impressive managerial career. We all knew the former Barcelona coach was England-bound, after he stated his interest in making the move across the Channel back in December, but with nothing concrete on paper, it was difficult to speculate the actual permutations of his move to these shores. However, we now know for certain that the Spaniard will take over the reigns from Manuel Pellegrini at Manchester City. What could change at the Etihad under Pep?
The early signs are that there’s a lot which Guardiola might opt to switch around when he commences his new job. With a number of aging players in the current Manchester City and perhaps some players who need to be moved along because of quality, the Citizens’ squad represents something of a blank canvas for a manager who will surely be backed in the transfer market to forge his own squad, given the track record of team-building success at both Barcelona and Bayern. Here then, are five potential targets who Guardiola could potentially be looking at bringing to the Etihad this summer.
