Top 3 betting tips for the weekend
As league championships across Europe swing into action, gamblers across the continent will be expectantly filling in their coupons tonight and tomorrow morning in the optimistic hope of that big early season win. Looking at the fixture list what are the top 3 betting tips for this weekend?
Tip 1 – Everton v Arsenal – Both teams to score
Arsenal and Everton both started the season in good goal scoring form with both teams netting two goals, against Leicester and Crystal Palace respectively.
Everton are strong at home and despite Ross Barkley’s injury have an array of options going forward: Aiden McGeady showed what he is capable of last week, Steven Naismith continued the fine form of last season, Lukaku and Mirallas are both available in addition to exciting loan signing Christian Atsu. Although Per Mertescaker’s probable return will strengthen Arsenal’s backline, their lack of pace should suit a direct and dangerous Everton attack.
With regard to Arsenal’s German World Cup contingent, Ozil rather than Podolski is likely to come into the team. Ramsey has started the season in fine goal scoring form and if Giroud starts ahead of Sanogo, Arsenal, with Alexis Sanchez keen to open his account, should have enough to breach an Everton defence that conceded twice to Premier League new boys Leicester City last week.

Odds – the best available odds on both teams to score are 7/10 with Paddy Power.
Tip 2 – Hull v Stoke – Stoke +1
Last week Stoke started their Premier League campaign with a surprise 1-0 defeat at home to Aston Villa. In contrast Hull were able to come away from Loftus Road with a 1-0 win against QPR.
Stoke will improve after last weekend’s reverse and I expect to see more of their attacking prowess. Hull have also had to contend with a tough European tie midweek to which they are not accustomed. Despite having a stronger and larger squad than last season, Hull are not yet in a position to exercise large scale squad rotation and several of the players who started against Lokeren will also line up against the Potters.
It will be a tight game and as such taking the +1 rather than an outright Stoke win is the most sensible course of action here.
Odds – the best available odds on Stoke +1 are 4/7 with Ladbrokes.
Tip 3 – Hoffenheim to beat Augsburg
The Bundesliga season kicks off this weekend but German clubs have already begun competitive action in the German Cup. Hoffenheim kicked off their season with a 9-0 victory whilst Augsburg were beaten 1-0 by fourth-tier outfit FC Magedeburg.
Hoffenheim scored the third highest goals in the division last season behind only Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. Whilst Augsburg in fact finished above Hoffenheim last season, they have lost their best player in Andre Hahn. Hoffenheim in contrast, have retained their best players, including the outstanding Roberto Firminho and have also made some good defensive signings.
Hoffenheim should have too much for Augsburg at the Rhein-Neckar Arena and should be backed to come away with the victory.
Odds – the best available odds on Hoffenheim to win are 1/1 at Coral
